Since 2013, Benue State, Nigeria, has been plagued with relentless attacks from armed Fulani herdsmen, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake. These ongoing assaults have ravaged numerous communities across twenty of the twenty-three local government areas, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives and the complete destruction of homes, businesses, and cultural heritage.
Amidst this turmoil, more than two million people have been forced to flee their homes, leaving behind their farmlands and other economic assets which have been their only source of sustenance. While many are cohabiting with relatives in neighboring communities, close to one million internally displaced persons now seek refuge in overcrowded IDP camps, living in extreme poverty and vulnerable conditions. An estimated 25% are school aged children whose education have either been interrupted for several years now, or even worse, denied the opportunity to go to school all together.
Their stories of hardship and resilience paint a stark picture of the human cost of conflict, compelling us to take action and extend a lifeline to those in desperate need. Together, we can offer hope and support to the innocent victims of this ongoing crisis.Over 44,000 children living in the IDP camps are currently reported to be malnourished.
Their displacement has rendered their predominant skills in farming of no economical value. We facilitate vocational trainings in viable trades relevant to their new environment and beyond
A child without education is like a bird without wings. Every child deserves to be educated. We provide free primary and secondary education to 1,500 plus kids in two camps.
Hunger is a daily reality for the average family in these camps. We are not only educating these kids, we provide school lunch for them, serving at least 3,000 meals weekly.
Education with Godly character create the most potent force for true transformation. We advocate building genuine relationship with Christ and walk alongside them towards becoming more like Christ
